What you can do to "Go Green" on your vacation here in the Smokies:

 At your lodging: Around the Townsend Area and East Tennessee:In the National Park:  In your activities and travels:

--Turn off lights.
--Keep the temperature moderate.
--Clean linens only as needed.
--Recycle.
--Conserve water.

 --Take the Cades Cove shuttle starting in mid-August.
--Use our walking path/bicycle trail.
--Enjoy local attractions, markets, craft exhibits, events, businesses.
--Dispose of litter properly.
--Recycle.
--Come by the Townsend Visitors Center for more info.

--Respect wildlife. Observe from a distance.
--Stay on established trails (no pets).
--Appreciate the natural diversity of the Smokies and learn more about the flora and fauna at Ranger-led programs.
--Be careful with fire.
