Photography in the Great Smoky Mountains

ATTENTION SHUTTERBUGS!

Townsend is a photographer’s year-round playground:

Basking under the warmth of the sun on an innertube or just relaxing next to a splashing river or creek, it’s summer, your best chance to view wildlife.

The seasonal brilliance of changing colors and the memorable fragrance of a crisp autumn morning; See the miracle of fall. The hues in the mountains of East Tennessee are world famous this time of year. Prime leaf viewing is generally around the 3rd and 4th week of October.

Ever explore a snowy trail in the clear mountain air of the Smokies? The quiet of winter will bring out the adventurer in you. Even the smallest sounds in the forest come alive due to the completely changed environment. At the end of the day, cozy up in front of a fireplace and make plans for tomorrow.

Now that you have your camera out and ready to go, the only tough question is…..what season am I going to have to miss?  If you'd like to learn more, contact us for information about photography workshops in the Smokies.
