Townsend Visitor Center
Townsend Visitors Center is the place to go for details about travel in the Smokies, with information about attractions, natural history, and cultural traditions in mountain communities-—Townsend, Blount County, and Cades Cove in particular. A store in the center sells books, music, and other park-related items.
Local artisans demonstrate and sell their work in the center’s Exhibit Room. Festivals and special events throughout the year highlight the traditional music, art, history, and crafts of the region. The center has 10 acres of green space, and is accessible, with ramps and accommodations inside and outside for wheelchairs, including golf cart shuttles during events.
